Aunt Martha's Observes National Latino AIDS Awareness Day

Tuesday, October 4, 2011, 3:33 PM

On Thursday, October 13, 2011, Aunt Martha’s Youth Service Center will join organizations across the country in recognition of National Latino AIDS Awareness Day 2011. The agency’s HIV Prevention Program will offer free, confidential NEEDLELESS HIV testing at its office in downtown Park Forest between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

There is no need to schedule an appointment; and test results will be available that same day.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) call HIV, “a serious health threat to Latino communities in the United States.” The rate of new HIV infections among Hispanic men is more than double that among white men. The rate of new HIV infections among Hispanic women is nearly four times that of white women.
